As most of you know we are playing with the idea of naming our recovery ministry Echo Kalos. The words are found in Mark 16:18 and means "to be well" and can be rendered, "they shall recover." There is a hint of this in 2Tim. 2:26 with the word ananepho which means "to return to a state of soberness." I love the language of recovery in this context. There is the sense of immediacy and pronouncement to they shall recover...convergence and commission. I thought The Boondock Apostates was cool but it didn't seem to go over so well....such is life. We're still looking at the right night to gather. I'm leaning toward Thursdays. My hope is to have a definite date over the next couple of days.
We had a great meeting on January 17th with over 40 recovery advocates and providers showing up! Remarkable to see the kingdom of God break in this way. Having recovery folks and providers together set's the stage for how we see our vision unfolding. Jesus invites everyone to the table. With that invitation comes the right to join in the feast as well as the conversation.
