Our M.O.M.S group @the Vineyard screened the film invisible children last night in our sanctuary followed by a lively discussion time. It was a very powerful evening with prayer, worship and and hunger to do more for invisible children in our community. I was struck by our local context with thousands of refugee/immigrant Africans in our midst here in Lewiston/Auburn. We are creating service opportunities in our downtown that you can be involved in. I'll post later today on some thoughts regarding art, worhip and being the kingdom in our community.

The dramatic way in which the prophets stood up to injustice with nothing more then an old text and the powerful belief that God would do what God had said. This book helped restore my faith in this second phase of my journey. - Free of Charge-Giving and Forgiving in a Culture Stripped of Grace
In a culture stripped of grace what is the motivation to give? How do we forgive when it often seems futile and conterintuitive? Volf answers these questions in the light of God's genrousity and Christ's sacrifice for us. - Frederick Buechner
An artist with a pastoral heart. This book is breathtaking in its gift of storytelling.
