I was driving around with my grandson sam heading for the skatepark today listening to Flogging Molly. The track whistles the wind came on....classic fm...can winners be losers...well it breaks my heart to see you this way...my isolation, there's a sobering thought ...I've been a loner a lifetime to long...there's an ocean between where I am and were I want to be...
I found a delightful and passionate community that has eight aspect of The Way (what the celtics called there christian journey) and thought I'd pass them along. Read carefully the graciousness of the language. Gentle.
What do you mean by "Celtic", and what do the Celtic Christians mean for us today?
The Celtic Christians flourished in present-day Ireland, Scotland, and northern Britain from the 4th through the 12th Centuries. They were known for a deep personal experience of Christ, hospitable communities of mixed states of life in which learning and the arts flourished, ministry which flowed from the gifts and talents of the members, and a passion for pilgrimage in distant lands as well in the paths of their own hearts. Their gift-centered, Christ-impassioned example of community, service to those in need, view of creation as blessed, willingness to converse with people of different cultures, and thirst for pilgrimage matches many of the deep hungers of contemporary people.
